The terms Synchronous and Asynchronous were referenced a few times in the most recent MTE Townhall meeting. Click HERE to view the document detailing examples and advantages for each. The easiest comparison is that Synchronous activities are those occurring live or in real time with opportunity for two-communication between student and teacher, or among students….. an example would be conferencing via video or phone call. Asynchronous activities are not live with typical examples being pre-recorded messages or videos.
